Purple Smoothie?

Check it out... My green smoothie turned PURPLE today and it is super YUMMY!😋

I grabbed my blender, threw in a couple handfuls of spinach, 1 cup of water, half of a cup of grape juice, and added a cup of frozen organic BLUEBERRIES into the mix. Blend, pour and ENJOY!!!😉

This smoothly with it’s beautiful color is a great “starter” smoothie for kids... or grown ups who are bit skeptical about the whole drinking something green idea. It’s great with banana 🍌 added, too!

30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge

Woo Hoo... 8 days in and I’m still going strong!  How about you?
In addition to my 100 Days of eating GREENS, I decided to join the 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge!  Why not... I’m committed to eating greens 🥬 anyway... might as well blend them!

It was a bit more challenging for the couple of days that we were out of town.  But, I was  determined!  I blended up some extra green smoothie the day before, put it in the freezer overnight. Then, brought it along... perfect!

The 100 Days of Greens Challenge

Hi there- If you’re like me, you’ve made and broken your new year resolutions many times through the years.  So this year, I’m trying something different.  I am setting a realistic goal.  Sharing it with others and inviting people like you to join me in my quest.  So here it is....

The 100 Days of Greens Challenge

Here’s how it works:

Step 1:  Make a pledge to eat (or drink) something GREEN every day for 100 days.  No, not green Jelly Bellies or green M&M’s... nice try!  I mean REAL food!  You know, fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens, such as spinach, kale, red or green leaf lettuce, romaine, etc.

Step 2:   Invite your friends to join you.  Things are always more fun with friends along, right!

Step 3:  Go buy something green!  Check out the recipes below for items to add to your shopping list.

Step 4:  Check back here regularly for some inspiration, yummy recipes, and links to help you along your 100 day journey.

Keeping it real....As a 3rd grade teacher I strongly believe in setting goals with my kiddos and also most importantly, making sure the goals are realistic and attainable.  So, I am using that same wisdom here.  It is ok if you’re not perfect.... even the best of us are not 100% EVERY DAY!  So there is a bit of wiggle room here.... yes the goal is to hit 100 DAYS of greens 🥬  you are not a failure if you go ten days straight and then miss a day.... not a biggie, no judgement here.  You don’t even have to start your count over, just give yourself a break and continue counting where you left off.  I am starting on January 1st, so my personal goal is to hit 100 days of green eating by the end of April.  That gives me roughly 120 days to meet my goal.  Set a realistic goal that works for you!

Here’s a couple of links to get you started.  For beginners this is a great green smoothie recipe... nice and sweet!  I leave out the yogurt on mine since I can’t eat dairy products.
