The 100 Days of Greens Challenge

Hi there- If you’re like me, you’ve made and broken your new year resolutions many times through the years.  So this year, I’m trying something different.  I am setting a realistic goal.  Sharing it with others and inviting people like you to join me in my quest.  So here it is....

The 100 Days of Greens Challenge

Here’s how it works:

Step 1:  Make a pledge to eat (or drink) something GREEN every day for 100 days.  No, not green Jelly Bellies or green M&M’s... nice try!  I mean REAL food!  You know, fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens, such as spinach, kale, red or green leaf lettuce, romaine, etc.

Step 2:   Invite your friends to join you.  Things are always more fun with friends along, right!

Step 3:  Go buy something green!  Check out the recipes below for items to add to your shopping list.

Step 4:  Check back here regularly for some inspiration, yummy recipes, and links to help you along your 100 day journey.

Keeping it real....As a 3rd grade teacher I strongly believe in setting goals with my kiddos and also most importantly, making sure the goals are realistic and attainable.  So, I am using that same wisdom here.  It is ok if you’re not perfect.... even the best of us are not 100% EVERY DAY!  So there is a bit of wiggle room here.... yes the goal is to hit 100 DAYS of greens 🥬  you are not a failure if you go ten days straight and then miss a day.... not a biggie, no judgement here.  You don’t even have to start your count over, just give yourself a break and continue counting where you left off.  I am starting on January 1st, so my personal goal is to hit 100 days of green eating by the end of April.  That gives me roughly 120 days to meet my goal.  Set a realistic goal that works for you!

Here’s a couple of links to get you started.  For beginners this is a great green smoothie recipe... nice and sweet!  I leave out the yogurt on mine since I can’t eat dairy products.
